targetP! – Agile Procurement Enabled, was founded by Jan-Henner Theissen following his long-lasting and successful career in various industries.
Jan is an experienced global Procurement and transformational leader with a broad experience in the Automotive, Agricultural Machinery and Oil & Gas industry. He acquired more than 20 years of international, cross-cultural leadership and strategic Purchasing & Supply Chain expertise. He has been leading global teams all over Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa working and living in Germany and the USA collaboration with suppliers and OEM’s around the globe.
Jan supports and counsels hands-on companies and their Supply Chain teams in organizational transformation, restructuring and change management projects, in as well as in digitalizing supply chains and Procurement 4.0 readiness.
He can rely on his vast experience of more than 20 years – both tactical and strategic – as a procurement executive across the world for numerous industries, including Automotive, Oil & Energy and Agricultural machinery. During the last 10 years, his prime focus was the establishment of successful international purchasing organizations along with performance enhancement and increase in value & performance delivery.

From 2011 to 2017 Jan served as Global Director of the Strategy & Methods group within AGCO Corporation, a Top 3 Agricultural Machines manufacturer worldwide. In this role Jan globally did oversee the global Purchasing Strategy & Organizational effectiveness and the Supplier Development & Supplier Cost Analysis teams. He held the global responsibility for procurement strategy and organizational development and did lead extensive transformation, efficiency, and cost cutting projects. He merged formerly decentralized purchasing activities into a globally lead procurement organization (across all brands, facilities and regions). Moreover, he was the architect and driver behind the implementation of state of the art procurement methods including Supplier Management, Supply Chain Risk Management as well as the Cost & Value Analysis organization. Additionally Jan was the founder and Dean of the AGCO School of Purchasing to foster associate competency development. With his global team, he additionally was in charge of topics like business processes, digitalization from planning to implementation, contract management as well as Compliance and Corporate Social Responsibility.
In 2015, Jan and his team won the BME “Excellence in eSolutions”-Award and in 2016 he was awarded the “BVL Logistikpreis” along with his colleagues from the logistics department. The 4PL concept they successfully implemented included - amongst others – the integration of the cloud based, big data driven supplier management approaches (“Aspire”) with an emphasis on a proactive, multiple data-source-fed Supply Chain Risk Management.
Prior to AGCO, Jan was Global Director Strategy & Methods at Benteler Automotive a global Top 25 Automotive supplier where he lead various transformational, cost-down and efficiency programs and founded the Benteler Automotive Purchasing Academy. He successfully led the Benteler & BMW sourcing team and launched the BMW X5 Chassis program in South Carolina. Jan was also part of the leadership team that successfully ramped up the new JIS automotive chassis plant which was considered the most modern chassis assembly part globally in 2006.
Jan gained further experience in the international Purchasing field working for ThyssenKrupp Automotive in Strategic & Tactical Purchasing areas and for DEUTAG Drilling as well as BENTEC Drilling & Oilfield Systems.
